Camera and Film

Most photos on this web page were taken with an Olympus Satellite 28-70 mm pocket camera (~$350-399) which has minimal weight and is quite durable and water resistant. It is the best small-format camera I have ever owned. I hardly use my Nikon 5005 or N-90 anymore. It is a perfect camera for mountaineering. The resolution is amazing (the images here have been reduced due to size considerations). Even 11x14 inch blowups show no grain!!  Below is the Olympus’ fully-automatic exposure of the rising sun seen from 18,000 feet on Cotopaxi.

Film. I use Kodak Max 400 with 36 exposures. It is awesome film and the 400 speed is totally versatile and excellent for daytime photos or for time exposure or flash photos at night.
